E-Mailing Lists

E-mailing lists are an excellent way to explore not only genealogy but also history and culture. If you have never tried one before, I suggest you experiment. But you must expect a rather large volume of e-mail. Please never, ever e-mail the list at large or the list administrator begging "get me off this list, I can't stand the volume!" This is a great annoyance to list members and administrators alike. If you want to get off the list, please revisit these links or send a POLITE message to the list asking how to unsubscribe.

I want to emphasize that you must act with resposibility, civility, and consideration for other members of the list. Keep your discussion pointed and if you wish to write a message intended for one person, keep it private. Don't mail to the whole list!

One more time, if you can't take a bunch of e-mail - if you can't use your delete key, don't bother signing up for these lists. If you can, GREAT, you will be rewarded!
