Obits - NJ - Monmouth - 1923 - Julia M. Gorey McDonald

Mrs. Julia M. Gorey McDonald died at the St. Columbus Hospital in New
York last Sunday from pleuro-pneumonia. She was twenty-four years old and was
the daughter of Mrs. Hannah Gorey. The family lived for a number of years in
the Sullivan homestead on Broadway, near the Keyport-Matawan line. The house
was destroyed by fire about three years ago. When a girl Mrs. McDonald
attended the graded schools of Keyport, St. James' School in Red Bank and
later was a student at St. Elizabeth's College at Convent Station. Besides
her mother, the deceased leaves surviving her husband, John J. McDonald, and
a son, John McDonald. The body was brought to the home of her aunt, Mrs.
Catherine V?. McCarthy, in Red Bank, and the funeral was Wednesday morning at
St. James' Church, where solemn high mass was said. Burial was in St.
Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport.
Note: Julia's mother operated a dress shop in Keyport for some time and
later moved to Red Bank, hence the Red Bank Connection.
