DR. LOUIS A. SPAETH

Phila. Physician Served Throughout War; Spanish War Veteran, Too

DR. LOIUS A. SPAETH, ranking medical officer at Fort Slocum, New York, during the was and a widely known physician, died Tuesday in the Abington Hopsital. He was fifty-seven years old.

Doctor Spaeth lived with a brother Wallace B. Spaeth, 100 Woodland avenue, Wyncote, since resigning from the army last December. He used to live at Sixty-second and Haverford avenue.

He was commissioned a captain in the medical corps in June, 1917 and later was promoted to major. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War also.

Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow night in his brother's residence and burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Newark. Doctor Spaeth was a Mason.

WILLIAM J. BARR

WILLIAM J. BARR, a well-known lawyer and president of the Southwestern National Bank, died yesterday morning in his home, 1433 South Broad street. Death was due to heart disease. He had been ill only a short time.

Mr. Barr was born in this city October 5, 1850. He was a graduate from Central High School and from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He practiced here for many years, engaging also in the realty business.

He was a member of the Historical Society, the Pennsylvania Club and the Orient Lodge of Masons. He leaves four daughters; Mrs. G.H. Swayze, Miss Mary M. Barr, Mrs. E.A. Muschamp and Miss Mary J. Barr.

HERMAN SCHENCK

HERMAN SCHENCK, seventy-five years old died suddenly yesterday morning of heart disease at the Masonic Home, Broad and Ontario streets. Mr. Schenck was born at Frankfort-on-the-main, Germany and came to this country in 1870. He engaged in the hotel business in Camden for many years. He was a member of the Gothic Lodge, 519, F. and A.M., and the Trestam B. Freeman Loyal Lodge, Chapter 243. He is survived by two sons Herman, of Camden, and Walter, of this city. He will be buried in a Camden Cemetery Friday.

MRS. MARY E. SCOTT

MRS. MARY E. SCOTT, widow of T. Seymour Scott, died yesterday in her home, 17 Bala avenue, Bala. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Dorcas room of the Furst Baptist Church, Seventeenth and Sansom streets.
