C.A. FRAME DIES; ROXOBOROUGH DOCTOR
Veteran of Civil War Enlisted at 16 -Leaves Two Sons and Five Daughters

Dr. Christopher A. Frame, a well-known physician of Roxborough, died unexpectedly yesterday morning in his home, 5932 Ridge avenue (sic). Heart disease is said to have been the cause of his death.

Doctor Frame was the son of the Rev. John Frame, a Methodist Episcopal clergyman, and was born in Norristown, Pa., September 23, 1845. Early in life his parents moved to Manayunk. After being graduated from the Manayunk Grammar School he began the study of pharmacy in the establishment of William M. Mottison. Later he studied medicine under the tutelage of Dr. Harry N. Uhler.

When the Civil War began young Frame, then only sixteen years old, enlisted in Battery A, Fourth United States Field Artillery. He served throughout the war, participating in many battles.

When mustered out of the service he retuned to his home and entered one of the local medical colleges, from which he later graduated.

For many years Doctor Frame was an examining physician for the Prudential Life Insurance Co. He was also secretary of the Twenty-first ward school board.

Among the organizations of which he was a member are (sic) the General G.K. Warren Post No. 15, G.A.R., which he helped organize, and the Equitable Lodge No. 591, F. and A.M. He leaves two sons and five daughters.
