Mrs. Annie (Snyder) Hagan
The death of Mrs. Annie Hagan is the third within a year in the home of the late Alonzo Snyder, of Gloucester City, and completes the extinction of the family of three.
Mr. Snyder's wife, Elizabeth, died about a year ago and was buried in Mount Peace Cemetery, Philadelphia. Mr. Snyder died, three months ago, after having married again, and was buried having married again, and was buried in the Union Cemetery at Gloucester City. The last survivor of the family, Mrs. Annie Hagau, daughter of Mr. Snyder, died Tuesday.
Mrs. Hagan's funeral will take place today. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, although not in the same plot in which Mr. Snyder is buried.
Charles Spering
Charles Spering, a retired dry goods merchant of this city, died early yesterday morning at the Masonic Home after a long illness. He was seventy-eight years old, having been born in this city.
After being educated in the local public schools, he engaged in merchandise selling until 1913, when he took up his residence in the home.
He is survived by one son, Nathan Spering, of Baltimore. He will be buried Friday morning.
Rev. J. L. Nicholas
Pottsville, Dec. 17 - The Rev. J. L. Nicholas, seventy-eight years old, a retired minister of the Lutheran Church, died here today. He was the father of the Rev. W. H. Nicholas, of Springfield, Ill.; the Rev. J. C. Nicholas of Allegheny, Pa., and the Rev. C. M. Nicholas, of this city. His only daughter, Mrs. W.H. Faas, is the wife of a minister at Fruitland Park, Fla. He served forty-five years in the ministry, Mechanicsburg being his last charge. During the Civil War he served in the 209th Pennsylvania Volunteers.
C. William Groeling
C. William Groeling, a retired master plumber, died yesterday at his home, 529 York street. Mr. Groeling was in business for many years at 413 Susquehanna avenue, but retired about fifteen years ago.
Mr. Groeling was seventy-one years old. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Groeling.
Mrs. Jane D'Olier
Mrs. Jane D'Olier died Tuesday night at the home of her sister, Miss Eleanor Brown, 1319 South Nineteenth street. Mrs. D'Olier was eighty years old. She was the widow of John D'Olier, who died sixteen years ago, and an aunt by marriage to Franklin D'Olier, national commander of the American Legion.
