Welcome to Portland, Oregon - Its History and BuildersWe have obtained a copy of "Portland, Oregon - Its History and Builders," in connection with the antecedent explorations, discoveries and movements of the pioneers that selected the site for the Great City of the Pacific. This work was published by The S. J. Clarke Publishing Co., Chicago-Portland, and consists of almost 800 pages of biographical and genealogical sketches for more than 300 families who formed the foundation of Portland Oregon. Additionally the work includes numerous portraits of some of these prominent citizens. We have scanned many of these pages and include them for your use. In order to make this work searchable, we have indexed the pages in accordance with the primary surnames listed on them. Spouses maiden names and family names included in the listed ancestry have not been indexed as of this time. Click on the letter of the alphabet which corresponds to the first letter of the surname/last name you are interested in and then the page number(s) which correspond to the specific individuals and names. Clicking on the page number should take you to the appropriate page. These pages are scans of the original document which are fairly large files.
