LONG, PAUL
"Who thinks too little, and who talks too much."
-Dryden
"I know it is a sin
For me to sit and grin."-Holmes.
Paul Walter Long came to High School from the St. Anthony
Catholic School and took up the Commercial Course. "Shorty"
is one of the members of the class who has done little of note
during his four years. He has always taken an interest in music
and during his Senior year played in the High School Orchestra.
"Mike" usually announces his presence every morning by the
expression, "Got a pencil you want to loan me ?"

MADlGAN, RICHARD
"On their own merits modest men are dumb."-Coleman
"In study took he moste care and heed."-Chaucer
Richard Bruce Madigan, of the Commercial Latin Section, is
a student who, in the Latin Class, could always be counted on
for a good recitation. During his four years of Latin he was
always one of the good students in that subject. In his Sophomore
year "Dick" was the Class Secretary; and in his Senior
year he was Class Treasurer, which position he filled very capably
and faithfully. He has played football, and has been out for the
track team. He won his numerals on the school soccer team.
"Dick" was a charter member of the Red and Black Literary
Society, in which association he was counted one of the good
orators. He may take up accounting after leaving school.

MARSHALL, HENRY
"The first in glory as the first in place."
"None knew thee but to love thee,
Nor named thee but to praise."-Halleck
Henry James Marshall, the President of the Senior Class, is
a member of the Classical Section. He is another one of the
all-round athletes of the school. He has been on the track team
and in his Senior year was a member and manager of the Varsity.
In his Sophomore year he was an active member of the Class
baseball team; and during his last year was captain of the Varsity
soccer team and a member of the Varsity basket ball team. The
class is fortunate in having such a president as Marshall in the
Senior year - the most responsible and arduous in the course.
He has filled the office of class president to the entire satisfaction
of everyone, making wise choices in the selection of his committees,
being impartial to all the members, giving them all a
chance to do something, having the interest of the members
always at heart, and ever ready to receive suggestions and put
them into practice if feasible - in short, a man in every way
fitted for the responsible position he has held. We predict that
he will be a success in whatever pursuit he is engaged.
