THE SEDLACEK FAMILY
"This Sedlacek family came from an, as yet, unknown area of Bohemia to the United States, landing in New York harbor on 10 October, 1864, aboard the ship "Hansa". They settled near what was to be the town of Swisher, in Monroe Township of Johnson County, Iowa. The sisters, Anna and Katharine Sedlacek, married John and Joe Holets (Holec), who were brothers. Our connection to this family is through Katharine Sedlacek and Joseph Holets."
