Description / Surnames:
"SURNAMES being researched are: AVANT, BLANN/BLAND, COURVILLE, NUTT, SHADDOCK and SMITH. The AVANT line originated in South Carolina with Caleb AVANT. The BLANN line originated in North Carolina, to Georgia and my line moving then to Dallas County, Alabama. I am researching the COURVILLE family name from Breaux Bridge, St. Martin Parish, LA. Sylvain Courville b. 1890 had 5 children: Aristille, Alcee, Aldus, Alpha and Alexander. His wife was a Lucille THEROIT. The original surname was DEBILLY and down through the years a derivative became Billy dit COURVILLE.
At one time my ancestors John C. AVANT, Silas BLANN and Burrell SHADDOCK were all families of Dallas County, Alabama c. 1820-1840's. All three families GGGreat grandparents of mine and my husband and moved to Dallas, Ouachita and Calhoun Counties in Arkansas 1840-1850. Another ancestorial line is that of William Jones NUTT with family originating from Augusta County, Virginia and Redmond Rudd SMITH from Mecklenburg County, Virginia ca 1830."
