Minnesota Obituaries - 2001 - Esther Pauline Nelson

April 13, 1930 - April 14, 2001
Esther Pauline Nelson was born on April 13, 1930 in Oelwein, Iowa, the
adopted daughter of Rev. Rudolph and Clara (Suess) Lechner. Esther spent
her young childhood years in Beatrice, Nebraska, where she was
baptized. She later moved with her family to Raymond, MN where she
received her education and was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church.
On November 15, 1947, Esther was united in marriage to James F. Nelson.
In 1954, they moved to Windom, MN, where Esther worked as a waitress.
She was later employed and retired from the Cottonwood County Sherriff's
Department as a dispatcher. She retired in 1990 and moved to Raymond,
MN. In 1998, she moved to Albert Lea, the home of her son, while in
failing health. She recently resided at the Good Samaritan Center in
Albert Lea.
She is survived by her five children, Pauline (Ken) Murphy of Missoula,
MT, Jacqueline (Mike) Folsum of Waldorf, MN, Rosalie (Bruce) Schafer of
Windom, MN, Cathie Nelson of Jackson, MN and Tom Nelson of Albert Lea,
MN; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, besides other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, JoWayne Nelson, one
granddaughter, Heidi Klara Bauch, one sister, Marie Nelson, and one
brother, George Lechner.
The interment will be in the church cemetery.
