New Jersey Obituaries - 1886 - Peter G. Vanderhoof


   

This well-known and aged resident of red bank died last Thursday after a long illness. He was born in Matawan on January 28th, 1814. He moved to Oceanport a great many years ago, and for some time was employed on the boats running between that place and New York. He afterward moved to Red Bank, where he acted as a salesman on the Shrewsbury boats. He was elected a constable for several successive terms, and had also served several terms as marshal of the town of Red Bank. The cause ofhis death was chronic liver disease.
