Patrick McQuire, who had kept the toll-gate on the Englishtown and Manalapan turnpike for the past fifteen years died on Monday of last week of consumption. He was a native of Ireland, and had lived in the vicinity of Englishtown for about 25 years. He was a shoemaker by occupation, and worked at his trade until a recent period, even when acting as keeper of the toll-gate. He was 76 years of age and he leaves a widow but no children.
