Capt. Thomas M. Walling, of Keyport, died at that place last Thursday night, at the age of 68 years. In early life, before steamers plied between Keyport and New York, he commanded a sloop which was engaged in transporting farm produce. Afterward he was a salesman on the various steamboats, which vocation he continued for thirty years. He leaves a widow and one son, Joseph M. Walling.
