Death Notice

Source: Red Bank Register March 2, 1887 John Golden, who died in his home at freehold about two weeks ago, was born on the homestead farm in Old Middletown on June 9th, 1803. On January 23, 1823, he married Catherine Schenck, daughter of Peter Schenck, also of Middletown, and they lived happily together until August, 1874, when Mrs. Golden died. they celebrated their golden wedding on January 23, 1873. mr. Golden removed with his family to Freehold in 1868, where he has since lived a quiet life. he leaves surviving him four children - Mrs. Rhoda Dorrance (widow of Mator Dorrance), Miss Eleanor H. Golden, Peter S. Golden, and Elias G. Golden.
