Enoch S. Griffith, for many years a resident of Matawan, died of pneumonia at Pamrapo, near Jersey City, on Saturday, february 25th. Mr. Griffith was a drummer boy during the war, and at its close his mother bought a small farm at Granville. She sold the farm in a short time and moved to Matawan. Enoch was employed as a clerk in several of the stores at Matawan, and last fall he moved to Pamrapo, he having been given a position as a starter on a Jersey City railroad. He was 41 years old and leaves a widow and three small children. Source: Red Bank Register March 9, 1887
