Mrs. Melania B. Smith, one of the oldest residents of Monmouth county, died at Shrewsbury on Saturday last in her 99th year. She was born in Stockbridge, Mass., and moved from New York to Shrewsbury twelve years ago. Her remains were buried in the church-yard at Shrewsbury yesterday afternoon, the funeral services being held at the Presbyterian church.

Death notice lists her age as 98 years, 8 months and 27 days.
