Obits - NJ - Monmouth - Mrs. Elizabeth M. Beck |
Mrs. Elizabeth M. Beck, of Red Bank, died at the residence of her daughter,
Mrs. George Brand, on Mechanic street, last Saturday. Mrs. Beck came to this
country from Bavaria about forty years ago and took up her residence in New
York city. During the cholera epidemic of 1848 Mrs. Beck's husband caught the
disease and died after a few days' illness. After her husband's death Mrs. Beck
came to Red Bank, where she resided up to the time of her death. She was a great
sufferer from rheumatism, and had been an invalid from that complaint
for a long time previous to her death. Mrs. Beck leaves three children - two
daughters and a son, the latter being John Beck, the confectioner on Front
street. Her daughters are Mrs. Mary Laug and Mrs. George Brand, both of
Red Bank. The funeral was held on Monday, the Rev. J. K. Manning officiating.
The remains were buried at Fair View.
Death notice lists her age as 75 years and 3 months.
