Edward J. Hopping died on Sunday afternoon last at the Hopping homestead, at Chapel Hill. Mr. Hopping was born near New Monmouth thirty five years ago. the disease from which he suffered was jaundice. He had suffered from it but a few weeks, and being a man of large stature and great strength, it was a surprise to many that his constitution succumbed to the disease. Mr. Hopping leaves a widow and two children, boys. His father and mother and brother were with him during his last hours. Mr. Hopping was highly esteemed bu a very wide circle of friends, and he never made an acquaintance without at the same time making a friend. Two years ago he was a member of the township committee and was the township treasurer during his term in office as a committeeman. In his administration of the township treasury he was most conscientious and watchful. His funeral took place this afternoon at half-past one o'clock at his late residence. The interment was in Fairview.
