Obituaries:

James R. Perrine.

James R. Perrine, proprietor of the hotel at Marlboro, died last Friday of consumption, after a lingering illness of over a year. Mr. Perrine was 65 years old. A widow and three married children, two sons and one daughter, survive him. William Perrine, one of his sons, keeps the public house at Keansburg, and Edward, the other son, keeps the hotel at Holmdel. The daughter is Mrs. Isaac Smith and is living near Wickatunk. The funeral services were held at the Brick church on Monday afternoon. Rev. M. N. Smith preached the sermon and the interment was in the church yard.

John Shea.

John Shea died at Fair Haven on Saturday morning. He was a brother of Mrs. Thomas Burnett and lived in Massachusetts. He was brought form there about ten days ago by Mr. Burnett, thinking that the change would benefit him. He died from a complication of diseases. He was an actor and was 31 years old. He leaves a widow but no children.

Miss Rachel Soper.

Miss Rachel Soper died at her home on the road between Red Bank and Leedsville on Saturday, aged 62 years. She was a sister of Abram Soper. Death was caused by pneumonia, with which she was sick for some time. The funeral took place on Monday morning, the burial being at Lloyd, New York.

Mrs. Mary Reid.

Mrs. Mary Reid died at Freehold on Monday of last week, aged 74 years. She was the widow of the late William C. Reid and had been a member of the Freehold Baptist church for forty years. Four children survive her.

Mrs. Ella Evans.

Mrs. Ella Evans died at Keyport on Wednesday of last week, aged 33 years. She was the wife of Samuel J. Evans. She had been sick only a short time. Besides her husband she leaves two children, both boys.

  • HOLLYWOOD - At Cliffwood, on Sunday, May 26th, Mrs. Mary Hollywood, aged 57 years.

  • PERRINE - At Marlboro, on Friday, May 31st, James R. Perrine, aged 65 years.

  • REID - At Freehold, on Monday, May 27th, Mrs. Mary Reid, aged 74 years.

  • SOPER - Near Red Bank, on Saturday, June 1st, Miss Rachel Soper, aged 62 years.

  • SHEA - At Fair Haven, on Saturday, June 1st, John Shay, aged 31 years.

  • TURPIN - At Pleasure Bay, on Sunday, May 26th, Samuel Turpin, aged 61 years.
