New Jersey Obituaries - December 8, 1897 - Mrs. Eliza J. Hackman

Mrs. Eliza J. Hackman, wife of Henry Hackman of Long Branch, died last Thursday. She was sixty years old. Mrs. Hackman had been sick with nervous prostration for eight weeks and on the afternoon of her death she was stricken with apoplexy, from which she died a few hours later. Mrs. Hackman was born in New York on March 6th, 1837, and she was married to Henry Hackman when she was sixteen years old. She was the mother of ten children, six of whom are living. The children are A. A. Hackman, Mrs. D. H. Prest, Thomas Hackman, and Lydia, Gussie and Elsie Hackman. Mrs. Hackman had lived at Long Branch since 1870. Her funeral was held from her late home on Sunday and the burial was in the West Long Branch cemetery.
