Stanley Deering Drowned
The Young Son of Mrs. Kittie Deering Meets Death in Wesley Lake
On Tuesday of last week Stanley Wade Deering, the three-year-old son of Kittie and Frank W. Deering, was drowned in Wesley Lake at Asbury Park. Mrs. Deering was formerly Miss Kittie Tice, the youngest daughter of Mrs. A. C. Tice, who kept a boarding house at Red Bank several years ago.
Stanley Deering and his brother Raymond were playing on the shore of the lake. Raymond left his brother and began throwing stones in the water. Suddenly he missed Stanley and ran home to his grandmother, Mrs. Tice, with whom the two boys were staying, and told her that Stanley was lost. A search for the boy was begun but nothing could be learned of this until Wednesday morning, when his body came to the surface of the lake and was found by E. T. Newton of Princeton.
