New Jersey Obituaries - July 7, 1897 - Miss Meribah West
|
Miss Meribah West died at Red Bank on Tuesday afternoon, aged 84 years. Old age was the cause of death. She had been sick a little over a week, but previous to this was in her customary good health. She is the last of her family, of whom there were five children. The only brother, William, died at Red Bank about fifteen years ago. About three years afterward a sister, Rebecca, died at Red Bank. Mrs. J. D. Forman and Mrs. Henry Wyckoff of Freehold were also sisters. They are both dead. Miss West had lived at Red Bank for the past twenty years. Previous to this she had lived at Long Branch. Her family at one time owned the John Hoey estate, which they sold to Mr. Hoey. Miss West was a member of Trinity church and attended services regularly up to the time of her last sickness. The funeral will be held at two o'clock on Friday afternoon from the house.
Per the Death Notice - Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral at her late residence on Broad street on Friday afternoon, July 9th at two o'clock.
