New Jersey Obituaries - November 3, 1897 - Mrs. Isabella Richardson
|
Mrs. Isabella Richardson, a resident of Red Bank, and widow of George Richardson of Newark, N. J, died suddenly at the Hudson street hospital, New York, last Wednesday noon.
Mrs. Richardson and her daughter, Mrs. Lester Moore, left Red Bank Wednesday morning on the boat to spend a few days with relatives in New York. When opposite Sandy Hook Mrs. Richardson, who had been in excellent health up to that time, was taken sick and she became unconscious. She was attended (by) Dr. Nagle of Oceanic, who happened to be on board. When the boat reached New York she was taken to the hospital and received the best care possible, but died without regaining consciousness. Her death was due to an attack of acute inflammation of the kidneys.
Mrs. Richardson's body was taken to the home of her brother at Orange where the funeral was held. The sermon was preached by Rev. S. H. Granberry, pastor of St. Barnabas Episcopal church of Newark, of which Mrs. Richardson was a member for 25 years. The burial was at Rosedale cemetery at Orange.
Just one year ago George Richardson, her husband, died suddenly at their summer home at Atlantic Highlands.
Mrs. Richardson leaves two children, Mrs. Lester Moore and William J. Richardson, both of Red Bank.
