|
Benjamin Applegate's Will
He leaves His Property to His Two Daughters.
The will of the late Benjamin Applegate of Howell township was made on August 3d, 1897, with George W. Patterson, Jr., and John C. Reynolds as witnesses. The will orders the erection of a monument over his grave, and then gives $100 to his daughter Mary, wife of Asa Emmons. The rest of the estate is bequeathed to his other daughter, Mrs. Charles Smith, during her life, with the right to sell real estate if she wants to. The property is to go to her children at her death. Should she leave no children the property will be divided among the surviving children of Mrs. Asa Emmons. Mrs. Smith is the executrix of her father's estate.
