Mr. Schanck Died While Sitting in a Chair

Kortenius Schanck, one of the oldest residents of Marlboro, died suddenly on Monday afternoon of last week. He was apparently as well as usual in the morning, and in the afternoon he took his usual nap. A little later he was found dead sitting in a chair. He was 94 years old and had been a farmer all his life. He owned the old Schanck homestead, where he died. The farm was conducted by James Tilton. Early in life Mr. Schanck married Miss Louisa West. She died a year or so after the marriage and Mr. Schanck did not marry again. He was the youngest of a family of twelve, and was the last to die. He leaves no relatives except a grand-nephew, Joseph Schanck of Freehold. It was Mr. Schanck's boast that he had never missed being at the polls on election day all his life.
