New Jersey Obituaries - February 23, 1898 - William Tunis

William Tunis, a native of Monmouth county, died at Brighton, Michigan, on Friday, February 11th, aged 94 years. He was born at Middletown, November 16th, 1803. He learned the tanner's trade and then moved to New York city. In 1837 he went West and settled at Brighton, where he had since lived. He married Miss Elizabeth Kirby Hooper of this state. She died many years ago. He left two sons and a daughter, all of whom live at Brighton. He was an uncle of John M. Tunis of Howell.
