New Jersey Obituaries - January 26, 1898 - John VanCleaf

John VanCleaf died at Red Bank on Sunday night of heart trouble, after a sickness of about two weeks. He was 68 years old (and) had lived at Red Bank for the past thirty years. Previous to that time he lived on a farm at Port-au-Peck. Mr. VanCleaf was not married, and the funeral was held at two o'clock this afternoon from the house of his sister, Mrs. Caroline Coggins of Borden street, with whom he lived. The service was conducted by Rev. G. F. Davey, who was assisted by Rev. F. R. Harbaugh. The burial was at Shrewsbury.
