New Jersey Wills - July 27, 1898 - Mrs. Annie D. Sherwood
|
Mrs. Annie D. Sherwood of Philadelphia died a short time ago. She owned a little property in the northern part of the county, near Cliffwood, and her will had to be probated in this county. The will was probated on Monday. It was made October 8th, 1886. The will set forth that Mrs. Sherwood had been deserted by her husband three years before the will was made, "My husband Benjamin Sherwood, has willfully deserted me," the will says, "and has not supported me nor made a home for me for over three years previous to the date of this my last will and testament, and I do not want my said husband to have any part of my estate. My said estate is my own separate estate." The will then goes on to distribute her personal belongings and various sums of money among her relatives, and all the rest of her estate goes to her two friends, William B. Fiacell and William H. Shallcross, to be divided equally between them.
