New Jersey Obituaries - July 27, 1898 - Josiah VanSchoick
|
Josiah VanSchoick died suddenly of dysentery on Saturday a week ago, having been sick only one day. He was 75 year old and had been in failing health for the past three years. In 1852 Mr. VanSchoick formed a partnership with Ezra Dunn and started a pottery at Matawan. He retained an interest in the business up to the time of his death and was at the pottery when he was taken sick. He had been a member of Knickerbocker lodge of Odd Fellows of Matawan for fifty years. A widow and three children survive him.
