New Jersey Obituaries - November 23, 1898 - Louis Miller
|
Louis Miller, a veteran of the civil war, died last Wednesday at the home of Charles Frey at Freehold. Death was caused by infirmities brought on by the effects of wounds and by exposure to camp life. Mr. Miller was 78 years old. He was born in Germany and came to his country in 1859. He enlisted in the civil war and was wounded by a gunshot in the leg. After being honorably discharged from service he worked at his trade as blacksmith on Long Island. He afterward went to Freehold where he lived with Fritz Hemlich. Mr. Hemlich died some time ago and Mr. Miller then went to work for J. Bowne Reid of Manalapan. He left Manalapan four months ago and went to Freehold, where he had since lived. He had no known relatives in this country.
