Joseph Craig Sickles's Will
His Estate Goes to His Wife and Children
Joseph Craig Sickles, who died on South street two weeks ago, left a will which was probated on Monday. The will was made on May 7th of this year, and was witnessed by Daniel H. Applegate and Warren H. Smock. Mr. Sickles ordered all his debts paid, and then left everything he possessed, both real estate and personal property, to his wife as long as she should live, or until she remarried. At her death, or at her remarriage, all his estate is to be divided equally among his children, James C. Sickles, Mrs. Emma Smock, Miss Laura Sickles, Mrs. Hattie Chadwick and Mrs. Lizzie Crossman. The executors are Mr. Sickles's son, James C. Sickles, and his wife, Catherine J. Sickles. If the executors at any time should think it for the best interest of the estate to sell the real estate, they are empowered to do so, and to invest the proceeds of the sale and to pay the income arising therefrom to Mrs. Sickles as long as she should live or until she re-marries. At her death or re-marriage the money as well as the remaining property is to be divided among the children in accordance with the provisions of the will.
