New Jersey Obituaries - September 7, 1898 - William Hornby

William Hornby died at Keyport on Tuesday of last week of paralysis. He was 65 years old. Mr. Hornby was stricken with paralysis on the Wednesday before his death, and was conscious for only a short time afterward. He had eaten his breakfast and started to go to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vadm Curtis when he was suddenly stricken. He had been in his usual health up to the time of the attack but had had two previous attacks. Mr. Hornby was born at Utica, New York. He was married to Miss Sarah Gillespie of New York on March 20th, 1857, and moved to Keyport in April, 1860. He had lived at Keyport ever since. His wife survives him, as do also six children-two sons and four daughters. All of the children are married.
