Miss Jessie Bray, daughter of A. J. Bray of Lincroft, died at a hospital at Paterson last Wednesday night, where she was engaged as a nurse. She had been home on a visit for two weeks and she returned to the hospital on the Saturday before her death. She was then in good health. On Saturday night she was taken sick with peritonitis. She grew rapidly worse and died four days later.

Miss Bray was a little over twenty years of age and was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Bray. She had a very lovable disposition and was a general favorite with all who knew her. She had been a nurse in the Paterson hospital eleven months at the time of her death, and by her manner she had endeared herself to the entire hospital staff.

The funeral was held on Saturday at her late home at Lincroft. The head nurse at the hospital and three attendants were present at the service. There was a profusion of flowers, several handsome pieces being tokens of esteem from the hospital staff. The service was conducted by Rev. J. K. Manning. The bearers were Oscar Hesse, Jr., Bert Harrison, Fred Byram, Aaron Brown, Joseph Tomlinson and Lester McQueen. The burial was in Fair View cemetery.
