New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - George Reed
|
George Reed of Navesink died last Friday of cirrhosis of the liver and chronic Bright's disease. He was
79 years old. He was brought up by the late Isaac Taylor of Harmony and had spent his entire life in
Middletown township. For the past forty years or more he had lived at Navesink. His wife was a daughter
of the late James Drum, who for many years was sexton of the Middletown Baptist church. Mr. Reed was a
veteran of the civil war and received a pension from the government. He leaves one son and one daughter.
They are Albright Reed and Mrs. Lewis Carney of Navesink. The funeral was held on Sunday morning at the
Navesink A. M. E. church. Rev. W. W. Johnson had charge of the service and he was assisted by Joseph
Greene of Navesink.
