Mrs. Ann M. Ayers, wife of Michael Ayers, died at Little Silver on Thursday aged 73 years. She had been in poor health for a number of years. During the past year she had been failing rapidly. About three weeks ago she fell while getting in bed and hurt her hip, and this injury hastened her death. The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the house. The service was conducted by Rev. J. William Lee, pastor of the Little Silver Methodist church. The body was buried in the churchyard at Little Silver.

Mrs. Ayers was the daughter of Joseph VanCleaf and she was born near Red Bank. About 55 years ago she married Mr. Ayers. Her family at that time was living on the Rumson road. Two children survive her. They are Mrs. John McColgan, who lives between Red Bank and Little Silver; and Mrs. Thomas Skidmore of Atlantic Highlands. Another child, a son, died in infancy. Three sisters survive Mrs. Ayers. They are Mrs. Margaret Morris of Broad street, Red Bank; Mrs. Caroline Coggins of Wallace street, Red Bank; and Mrs. Harriet Smock of Freehold.
