New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Mary Martin

Mrs. Mary Martin, widow of Alexander Martin, died at the home of her son, Alexander Martin of Atlantic Highlands, on Saturday, aged 74 years. Mrs. Martin went to her son's to spend Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day she was stricken with paralysis and gradually grew worse until her death. Mrs. Martin was born in Ireland. She and her husband came to this country about fifty years ago and located at Harmony, in Middletown township. About 25 years ago they moved to Leonardville, where Mrs. Martin lived until her death. Mr. Martin died twenty years ago . Mrs. Martin leaves three sons. They are James and Alexander Martin of Atlantic Highlands, and Daniel Martin, keeper of the twin lights at the Highlands. The funeral was held yesterday at ten o'clock at the house and half-past ten o'clock at St. Agnes's church. The pall bearers were Michael McLaughlin, John Tansey, John Travers Michael Callahan, Patrick Kelly and Peter McLaughlin. The body was buried in Mt. Olivet cemetery at Headden's Corner.
