New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - James McGarry

James McGarry, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of the Highlands, died on Saturday after a sickness of two months. Mr. McGarry was eighty years old and death was due to the infirmities of old age. He owned a house and lot at the Highlands, where he had lived for the past forty years. His wife, who was Miss Ann Hayes, survives him. He also leaves a son and two daughters. The son is James W. McGarry and the daughters are Miss Margaret E. McGarry and Martha A., wife of James McDonough. All the children live at the Highlands.

The funeral was held yesterday morning at ten 'clock at the church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Thomas A. Roche. The bearers were Patrick Coughlin, Peter Rafferty, Thomas Grady, Jerre Sheehan, John Horne and John Drennan.
