New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - William Francis Taylor

William Francis Taylor died of pneumonia on Sunday night at his home on Maple avenue, Red Bank. He was 59 years old and had been sick for five weeks. He was born in Jersey City and lived there all his life until three years ago, when he moved to Red Bank. For 35 years he was connected with the firm of Colgate & Co. of New York, and later he was connected with the North American Chemical company of New York with works at Perth Amboy. During Leon Abbott’s first term as governor of the state Mr. Taylor was a member of his staff. He was a member of the Produce exchange of New York, a member of the Union League club and a member of the Seventh regiment of New York, and he was prominently connected with the New Jersey club of Jersey City. He leaves a widow and three children. The children are Josephine, David and William F. Taylor, Jr. The funeral was held this morning at eleven o’clock from the house and the service was conducted by Rev. Robert MacKellar. The body was taken to Brooklyn and was buried at Greenwood cemetery.
