Jacob Early died of old age on Sunday of last week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William W. Taylor of Manalapan, aged 88 years. He was born at Pemberton, where he spent his youth. He learned the trade of turner there and later moved to Hightstown, where he carried on a turner’s business and went in the coal business, which he carried on for forty years. He was a member of the Hightstown Methodist church and for forty years he had not missed one of the regular church services. About eight years ago Mr. Early fell from a tree, while sawing off a limb, and he never fully recovered from the injuries he received. He leaves eight children, five daughters and three sons.
