New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - John Henry Brower

John Henry Brower of Beach street was found dead in his bed last Wednesday night. He was 54 years old and death was caused by heart disease. Mr. Brower was employed on Frank Blodgett’s place at Lincroft. Two weeks ago he quit work on account of not feeling well. He remained home but was not confined to the house. Last Wednesday night he ate a hearty supper as usual and went early to bed. About ten o’clock, when Mrs. Brower went to bed, she found her husband dead. Besides his wife Mr. Brower leaves four children. They are George Brower, Tillie Brower and Mrs. Theodore Peters of Red Bank and Mrs. Riney Holmes of Atlantic Highlands. He leaves also a brother, Frank Brower of Red Bank. Mr. Brower was insured in the Prudential insurance company for $188. The company was notified of his death Thursday morning at eight o’clock and at twelve o’clock the claim was paid.
The funeral was held at the house on Friday afternoon at two o’clock. Rev. Charles E. Hill had charge of the service. The body was buried at West Long Branch.
