Daniel R. Simmons of Keyport died on Friday, April 21st, aged 72 years. The day before his death he had an attack of rheumatism of the heart. On Friday he and his brother rowed to Cliffwood to tong for clams. While on the return trip Mr. Simmons suddenly fell backward and died.

Mr. Simmons was the son of Elizabeth Hilliard and Benjamin Simmons and was born at Keansburg. He was married to Miss Jane Barnes and she and two sons and a daughter survive him. The children are Mrs. Emma Boyd of Columbus, Ohio; Edward Simmons of Keyport and William Simmons of New York.

Per the Death Notice Mr. Simmons was aged 72 years and 11 months.
