New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - William W. Borden

William W. Borden, brother of Richard Borden of Red Bank, died in the state hospital at Trenton on Friday of softening of the brain. He was 58 years old and had been an inmate of the hospital over thirty years. He was born at Little Silver and was the son of Alice and Richard Borden. At an early age he engaged in the shoe business in New York, and was very successful. A few years later he was stricken with brain fever, caused by overwork. One brother, Richard Borden, and one sister, Mrs. George W. Vanderveer of Jersey City, survive him. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at five o’clock at Richard Borden’s on Broad street. The service was conducted by Rev. R. G. Davey and the body was buried at Fair View cemetery on Monday.
