New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Elizabeth Carman

Mrs. Elizabeth Carman, wife of Thomas Carman of Red Bank, died last Wednesday night at Mrs. W. R. Sherman’s at West Long Branch, where she was visiting. She was 54 years old. Death was caused by heart disease. The Saturday might previous to her death, Mrs. Carman and her husband attended the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Pool at Long Branch and Mrs. Carman appeared to be in the best of health. On Wednesday afternoon she made some calls and returned at night feeling as well as usual. About midnight she was stricken with heart disease and died almost instantly.
Mrs. Carman was born in England and lived at West Long Branch previous to her removal to Red Bank. Besides her husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. William F. Durham of Red Bank. The funeral was held last Saturday afternoon from the home of Mrs. Sherman at West Long Branch. Rev. E. C. Hancock of Red Bank conducted the service.
