New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Mrs. Matilda (Clayton) Tilton

Mrs. Matilda Tilton, wife of Charles Tilton of Port Monmouth died at Phoenixville, Pa., on Monday, aged 39 years. She went to Phoenixville two weeks ago to visit relatives and was expected home last Saturday. On Saturday a letter came saying that she was not very well and that she would return home the first of the week. Monday morning a telegram came announcing her death. She had been sick with stomach trouble for some time.
Mrs. Tilton was the daughter of Martin Clayton of Barnegat. For the past ten years she had lived at Port Monmouth. Besides a husband she leaves one son, aged about six years. She leaves also two brothers and two sisters, all of whom live at Barnegat.
