New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Loda Lohsen

Loda Lohsen of Centerville, in Raritan township, died last Saturday of heart disease, aged 55 years. He had been sick but a short time. The funeral was held yesterday at two o'clock at the house.

Mr. Lohsen was a son of the late Loda Lohsen and was born at Belford on the farm now occupied by William C. Bennett. He married Miss Lizzie Walling, daughter of the late Bennett Walling of Keyport. She and eight children survive him. The children are Benjamin, Ford, George, Minnie, Lida, Lizzie, Jennie and Amy Lohsen. He leaves also two brothers, two half brothers and two sisters. His brothers are George Lohsen of Belford and Otto Lohsen of New York. His half brothers are Martin C. Lohsen of Belford and Claus Lohsen. His sisters are Mrs. David Willett and Mrs. D. W. VanNote of Belford. Mr. Lohsen was a member of the Keyport Baptist church. There is no church at Centerville and for years Mr. Lohsen conducted a class meeting and a Sunday-school in the public school building there.
