New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - George Stevens
|
George Stevens died at the home of Cornelius Cuttrell of Keyport on Friday October 13th, aged 71 years. Mr. Stevens lost his leg in the civil war and receives a pension of $37 per month. He was born in England and served in the Queen's army before coming to the United States. Mr. Stevens had lived at Keyport for the past twelve years. He was a member of the Grand Army and a delegation from Arrowsmith Post of Red Bank attended the funeral.
