New Jersey Obituaries - 1899 - Isaac James Grimshaw

Isaac James Grimshaw of Freehold died at the Long Branch hospital on Saturday, September 2d, aged 69 years. He had been sick but a short time. He was taken to the hospital on the morning of his death and an operation was performed in the afternoon. He rallied after the operation, but his heart was too weak to stand the shock. Mr. Grimshaw was born at New York. He married Miss Susan Franklyn of Brooklyn. They moved to Freehold 27 years ago, where Mr. Grimshaw was employed as a moulder in Combs & Bawden's iron foundry. He had been employed by that firm ever since. Mr. Grimshaw was an exempt fireman, having been in service in the Freehold fire department for twenty years. he was a member of the Firemen's Relief association and of the Knights of the Golden Eagle. Mr. Grimshaw leaves a widow, three sons and a daughter.
