Mrs. Abby Murphy of Scobeyville, widow of Thomas Murphy, died of a complication of diseases on Tuesday of last week, aged 74 years. She was born in Ireland and came to this country when she was eighteen years old. She had lived at Scobeyville about forty years and was a member of the Colt's Neck Catholic church. Mrs. Murphy leaves one daughter and one son. They are Mrs. Rudolph Rekow and John Murphy. Two grandchildren also survive her. The funeral was held at the house at eight o'clock on Saturday and at ten o'clock at St. James's church at Red Bank. The body was buried in Mount Olivet cemetery at Headden's Corner.
