James C. Whitmore died last Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary J. McLaughlin of West Ocean Grove, aged 81 years. He was engaged as a contractor and builder until two years ago, when he was injured by a fall from a house which he was building at Farmingdale. Mr. Whitmore served as justice of the peace in Millstone township. He had made three trips across the continent to California after he had passed his 72d year. Mr. Whitmore leaves two daughters and a son. They are Mrs. McLaughlin, with whom he made his home, Mrs. John Horn of Freehold and W. B. Whitmore of New York.
