Benjamin Britton of West Asbury Park died of kidney disease at the Long Branch hospital on Monday of last week, aged 57 years. He had been a patient at the hospital for some time. Mr. Britton was a veteran of the civil war. He enlisted in company D. Twenty-Third regiment, on August 26th, 1862, and was mustered out on June 27th, 1863. A short time afterward he reenlisted in company H. Thirty-Seventh regiment. He was a member of the Grand Army and at the time of his death was officer of the guard.
